The Last Few Weeks

Two weeks have passed since the last entry on my blog and in those two weeks my whole world has changed a little more every day. I hope that all the fans of my blog (all 3 of you!) will appreciate the fact that I have been otherwise occupied in taking care of my 2 girls and not posting picture on the internet. Alas, the time has come to get caught up on the pictures and what has been going on since Sally Christine came to join us on June 8th.

Christie was in the hospital from the 8th to the 11th. Hoag is a pretty amazing place and except for one kinda cranky nurse the recuperation there went well. Dr. Dubyak gave us the all clear to go home on Saturday instead of Sunday because Christie was doing great and she knew that once discharged from the hospital that we all would get more rest. While a newborn makes "rest" a relative term, at least there is not stuff going on all the time like in the hospital. My favorite interruption at the hospital… the lady that came in to sell us baby pictures. She would actually wake up sleeping mommies to try and sell them a photo package. Luckily I was there when she came in and I took the packet and let her know we were not interested so that she did not have to wake Christie up.

The first few days were a little tough because Christie was still moving really slow, and Sally was not quite sure what schedule she was going to be on. All in all we made it through those days with a lot of prayer, cat naps and the support of our family and friends. Thanks to all who came by and especially those that brought all the yummy food!!

Christie has quickly regained her strength and as of Tuesday was given a clean bill of health. We have one more visit to Dr. D in a few weeks to get a final check up but for now Christie is doing great. We have been able to get out of our room and explore around town. First it was just a few short drives and then a short drive with a walk in the middle. Yesterday we went out for dinner for the first time. Christie wanted a Turkey Cranberry sandwich from Grounds since she could not have them during the pregnancy. Sally just slept the whole time! Tonight was dinner at Great Grandma Pat’s house. She made yummy burgers and then got to hold Sally for a while.

I am back at work mostly… I am still taking it easy this week… only working Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday. I would love to be able to just stay home! I know that I am going to miss something cool, but alas, someone must provide for the family and right now that is me. The one good thing about going to work though, is getting to come home… that is a really great feeling to come home and see my girls after a long day. Sally will just curl up in my arms and sleep, knowing that she is safe in her daddy’s arms.

Right now I am in bed waiting for Christie to finish her nightly face washing routine (Mary Kay products rock… contact my wife to schedule a party!). Sally is laying in bed next to me just making baby noises and sleeping. Life is good!

Okay Okay Okay… enough of that here are the pictures. Start at the bottom of page 2 with Daddy’s Little Princess.

I’ve been checking everyday for updates and was so excited to see a new one! What gorgeous pictures! I especially like the black and white where she’s smiling with her eye’s closed. Ahhhhh…happiness. Make’s me want another–nah, maybe not. I’ll stick with my four and enjoy your new addition. Keep up the good work and keep posting the pictures!
