Something that makes me smile…
…is my beautiful wife Christie! I love how supportive and compassionate she is. I love how tenacious she is. I love how vulnerable she can be. I smile when I think about her! I love you sweetie. Thanks for making me smile.
To Honor Those On Orbit
I decided to give my blog a new theme. I know… it changes all the time you are thinking. Well… it’s my blog and I can change it whenever I want to! Seriously, even if it is all filmed on a soundstage (wifely’s theory), the whole Space Shuttle program is so fascinating. I love watching NASA channel during missions. I have been hooked on all of the cool details surrounding America’s manned space program since I was a kid. When it is time for a shuttle to fly I can really exhibit my nerdery by reciting little know facts gleaned from hours of watching NASA channel. I will admit that although I find everything about spaceflight fascinating, the coverage on NASA is not great. Here are a couple of suggestions (in case anyone from NASA is reading this…) 1. Hire Seacrest to cover the launch. 2. Hire ESPN to put stats and other graphics on the screen during the mission. 3. Hire someone from FOXNews or MSNBC to put factoids on a crawl at the bottom of the screen. 4. Trade the headset mics the broadcasters wear for some decent large capsule condensers. 5. Figure out some kind of escape pod the astrounauts could return to earth safely in and then have viewers vote them off the shuttle during the mission. This might just add some fun. If that does not work then maybe recruit some of the people from Big Brother into the astronaut corps. Actually, there is something amazing about watching this machine and all of the people who make it happen. A real lesson in teamwork! Over the next few days if you are looking for me, I am probably watching NASA channel. If you have any obscure questions about the STS feel free to ask. I am looking forward to the first spacewalk.
