A Blog Is A Terrible Thing To Waste…

…and yet I seem to do that very thing. I have not updated in a really long time, and I am sure there are literally 3 people who are crushed by that fact. I know that most of you read my wife’s excellent blog most of the time and she does a great job of keeping you updated on our lives and how Sally is doing. Tonight was Daddy put Sally to bed night and so I gave her a bath before bed. She is usually pretty low key in the tub, but tonight she was all about the splashing. By the time she was done I am pretty sure I was soaked from head to toe. It was way fun!! The she went right to bed… good times.

Anyway… what has been going on in my life… If you live in Huntington Beach you need to vote in the upcoming election for Jill Hardy. She is a great councilmemeber and a friend. We got to go to her birthday party/campaign sign party last week. Sally was fascinated to see the rock path in her yard. And Sally got to meet lots of very important people. Jill has also asked me to fill a vacancy on the Planning Commission, and I have accepted. I should be officially appointed at the next City Council meeting, and my first meeting as a Commissioner will be September 26th. Set your TIVO to record all the fun!

We are in the middle of planning for a huge campaign at church to raise 15 million dollars to completely redo the campus. Things are moving at a fast and furious pace right now, but the results thus far are amazing. It is going to be fun to see how God continues to move in the life of First Christian. As part of the campaign we hired a strategic branding firm to handle our media needs, and they are doing an amazing job, so if you ever need to really wow people and inspire them call Dawn at Aspire One.

Lots of other stuff to talk about, but not all in one post. I spent a few days in Phoenix at an amazing conference last week and I will share more about that later. Hope all is okay in your world… send a comment if you would like!
