Another Blog Sneeze
I recently read somewhere that occasional posts are like Blog Sneezes. The only problem with that theory is that I know for myself that I sneeze in threes. Lately I have been sneezing a lot since the Santa Ana Winds are blowing here in SoCal and that means all kinds of weird stuff is in the air. There has also been a pretty serious fire burning in the desert near Palm Springs that is putting lots of brown guuk in the air. Well… soon the winds will end and the cool crisp air of fall will be here to stay. I love this time of year!
So, in other news… Planning Commision has been going well. I have sat in for 3 meetings now and it is a lot of “fun.” I have to be pretty careful about how I apply that term since most people would not define reading Zoning Text Amendments and Specific Plan Amenedments, or even the occasional EIR as being fun. Usual people see fun as things like movies and Disneyland, so I know my perspective is a little off, but I am enjoying my time on the Commission and I hope Jill gets reelected so I can continue on. VOTE JILL HARDY FOR COUNCIL!! If you are ever really bored on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month and have access to HBTV-3 tune in for all the fun of the HB Planning Commission.
One other thing… I have the greatest wife in the whole world. She got a new job at Allergan last week and she is loving it! She is taking this on to help out our family so we can reach some important goals. I love her willing attitude to make this sacrifice… she is amazing. Even more so… she has to get up really early for work and she does so without complaint. Then today after the time change I learned that babies (i.e. Sally) don’t understand time change so she was up at 6:30 raring to go and Christie still got up with her so I could go to work this morning… You are amazing honey… ILOVEYOU!!
Brilliant Marketing or Apocolypse…
You decide! I made a run for the border tonight to do my manly duty and hunt & gather food for my family. I found everything normal in the drive thru land and then I saw it… right after paying and getting ready to drive off… a huge sign that encourages patrons to enjoy a fourth meal of the day. You know, the one between dinner and breakfast. Now a snack I have heard of, but a fourth meal?? Seriously, have they put Hobbits in charge of marketing? If they can convince people eat an extra meal, then God bless them. Me personally, I think this may be the beginning of the end of civilization that we can decide that we need to add a meal to the day and that it should be Taco Bell. Well, with all that said the Nachos BellGrade was awesome! Say it out loud… it is fun… Nachos BellGrande.
