great learnings all the way around. great leaders sharing their wisdom is always one of my favorite things. craig groshchel was incredible, chuck colson is greay, catherine rohr was inspiring. thank you to bill hybels and the whole team at willow for caring enough about leaders to invest your time and energy to help build us up. it takes a special organization to be willing to create margin to do what only they can do. in the case of willow that is building leaders. in the case of lifechurch.tv that is applying new technologies to make the world seem a little smaller.
craig ended his talk (and I am also told his book, which I have not read yet) with this fancisican blessing. i think it is one of my favorite take aways from the summit this year…
“May God bless you with discomfort at easy answers, half-truths, and superficial relationships, so that you may live deep within your heart.
May God bless you with anger at injustice, oppression and the exploitation of people, so that you may work for justice, freedom and peace.
May God bless you with tears to shed for those who suffer from pain, rejection, and starvation, so that you may reach out your hand to comfort them and to turn their pain into joy.
And may God bless you with enough foolishness to believe that you can make a difference in this world, so that you can do what others claim cannot be done.”
